Plants are dispatched in growing condition and may not be in full flower. If too tall to pack safely, we may cut them back — this helps them establish more quickly. Read our Mail Order FAQs.
Penstemon barbatus ‘Roseus’ bears small, hanging, coral-coloured tubular bells from summer into autumn. It has narrow, glossy green, evergreen leaves.
It is drought-tolerant and suits borders and containers in a sunny position with well-drained soil.
Hardiness: H5 (−15°C to −10°C). Hardy through most UK winters, including severe cold. Choose a sheltered position in colder or exposed areas; plants in pots are more vulnerable to frost.

Care Guide:
Deadhead regularly to encourage further flowering. Leave the top growth in place over winter to help protect the crown, then cut back hard in spring after the last frosts. Take soft-tip cuttings in early summer or semi-ripe cuttings in midsummer as insurance against winter losses.
