Geranium ‘Clos de Coudray’ bears sprays of small, violet-purple, trumpet-shaped flowers with reddish-purple veins and pale edges above mounds of glossy, dark green foliage. The silky flowers contrast with its leathery leaves.
Much used by designers for its graceful, spreading habit, it provides ground cover in difficult areas, including beneath beech trees. Its foliage remains evergreen in all but the hardest winters. It tolerates dry shade and grows in most moderately fertile soils that are not excessively damp, and can also cope with a sunnier position.
