Penstemon ‘Lilac and Burgundy’ bears lilac bell-shaped flowers with burgundy-and-white striped throats above green, dagger-like foliage.

Plant it among other perennials to make use of its willowy form and long-lasting colour. Try it with Bistorta affinis ‘Superba’ and Achillea ‘Ruby Wine’ for a combination of lilac, pink and red.

It grows well in sun or light shade in fertile, free-draining soil.

Care Guide:
Deadhead regularly to encourage further flowering. Leave the top growth in place over winter to help protect the crown, then cut back hard in spring after the last frosts. Take soft-tip cuttings in early summer or semi-ripe cuttings in midsummer as insurance against winter losses.
