Papaver cambricum, commonly known as Welsh poppy, bears bright yellow or golden-orange, saucer-shaped flowers above pale green, divided foliage from late spring into autumn.
Naturally found in places with cool, moist summers, this easy-to-grow perennial prefers partial or light shade and moist but free-draining, neutral to acidic soil. It self-seeds freely, making it useful for naturalising, and unwanted seedlings are easy to remove. Allow it to seed among other plants in a cottage or wildflower garden, or plant it in dappled woodland shade.
