Plants are dispatched in growing condition and may not be in full flower. If too tall to pack safely, we may cut them back — this helps them establish more quickly. Read our Mail Order FAQs.
Nepeta nervosa — the Prominently-veined Catmint — produces upright, densely packed spikes of violet-blue flowers above aromatic, silvery-green foliage. Compact and bushy, it has a tidier, more upright habit than many other Catmints, making it particularly well-suited to the front of a border.
A magnet for bees and butterflies, it is an excellent choice for wildlife-friendly gardens. Easy to grow in any reasonably fertile, well-drained soil in sun or partial shade, it provides reliable colour throughout summer and into autumn.

Care Guide:
Grow in well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. After the first flush of flowers, cut back to keep the plant compact and encourage another display. Leave the old stems and foliage over winter to provide hibernation shelter for ladybirds, then cut back hard in spring as new growth emerges.
Lift and divide large, established clumps in spring or autumn to rejuvenate them. To raise new plants, take softwood cuttings in early summer. -
Good to Know:
Pollinator-friendly. Drought-tolerant once established. Aromatic foliage.
Some Nepeta attract cats, particularly catnip (Nepeta cataria). They may roll among the stems and chew the leaves, so young plants may need protection from their attention. -
